In 1950, the IPA, the largest police organization in the world, was founded with the Esperanto motto “Servo per Amikeco” (Service for Friendship). It was created by a police sergeant from Lincolnshire, England, named Arthur Troop, who wanted to create a means of friendship and international cooperation between police officers. Troop worked tirelessly to promote the founding of other national chapters and the IPA became the largest police organization in the world. Troop received numerous awards and recognitions, including the British Empire Medal, the Cross of Honor of the President of the Republic of Austria, and the “Golden Sword of Hungary.” Troop passed away in 2000.<\/p>\n

The International Police Association is an independent community of members from different police services, seeking international friendship and cooperation. It adheres to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and seeks the development of cultural relations among its members and the dissemination of their knowledge. The IPA is present in 68 countries and has more than 372,000 members. The IPA Spanish Section has around 12,500 members of police forces from different entities. The association seeks to foster friendship, cooperation and the exchange of professional experiences. The IPA website seeks to communicate and disseminate its work and objectives.<\/p>\n

At the Meeting held on March 31, 2011, the creation of a canine rescue unit was approved, which will be a new section within the Pened\u00e8s-Garraf Group. The \u201cUnitat Canina de Rescat\u201d is a rescue and rescue group with dogs, its purpose is to search for people in the various circumstances in which the location of the missing is key to guaranteeing their survival (people lost or buried under rubble). as a consequence of some natural disaster (earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis), artificial disasters (building collapses, explosions, attacks) or losses in large areas of land (mountains, forests). The Group formalizes different Agreements to be able to develop the training and missions of the Unit itself, creating within the (UCR) the IPA K9 RESCUE brand, with which it will act in all areas of rescue in which the IPA is involved. The main objective of the Canine Unit will be to be activated to search for missing persons in any of the various circumstances for which it is prepared and trained.<\/p>\n
